Shiatsu and Bodywork A 5,000-year-old oriental art based on the premise that the body and mind, which work as one, are created and maintained by energy. The energy circulates through the body along passageways, called meridians, carrying signals and messages. Along the meridians electro-magnetic energy gather at points called tsubos. Zen Shiatsu is applying pressure to the meridians and tsubos. There is a leaning into the meridians while the tsubos are held. The body is gently stretched and opened. This method is done on a futon mat, the client wears loose comfortable clothes. My massage blends accupressure Shiatsu with Visceral Manipulation, Cranio-Sacral, and Lymph Drainage, this work is meant to help facilitate the circulation of energy, blood, lymph, and respiration. This aids in the detoxification and elimination of harmful congestion of substances in the body. We are a latticework of energy. When your energies are vibrant, so are you. I address the energy system using Zen Shiatsu, Chakra Balancing, Tuning Forks and the essential oils, including Dr. Gary Young’s Raindrop Technique. I also offer sessions in Dr. Eric Pearl’s Reconnective Healing®. Natural Approach to Health - Education on whole health. Together we look at your diet, lifestyle, and your thoughts and how they play a part in how you’re feeling. Individual stretching, meditation, bodywork, and energywork are covered over a seven session series. Moving consciously, mindfully through your transitions. Our physical bodies are merely “the tip of the iceberg” of who we really are. Much of who we are lies beneath the surface of what can be seen, or measured. I align my approach with the Seven Levels of Healing by Jeremy Geffen MD, which are; Education and Information, Connection to Others, The Body as Garden, Emotional Healing, The Nature of the Mind, Life Assessment, and The Nature of Spirit. I am a long time seeker of internal and external knowledge. Studying the connection between the body, mind and spirit has beenher life work. You could say a“metaphysician” by nature. A graduate from the Ohashi Institute in Zen Shiatsu and a Doctor of Naturopathy with a bachelor degree in Natural Health Studies. I have a A.A.S. in Substance Abuse Counseling and training in Integrating Body Therapy and Psychotherapy. SI am certified in Dr. Stephen Glenn’s Developing Capable People as well as training in CranioSacral, Lymphatic Drainage, and Visceral Manipulation therapies through the Upledger Institute.
